All-New All-In-One | XDJ-AZ | I DJ NOW

Someone released a new XDJ model! And that someone…is AlphaTheta.

The XDJ-AZ is a 4-channel controller is an all-in-one unit offering 4 deck playback with PRO DJ LINK compatibility that’s geared towards venues like clubs or event spaces looking for something as a permanent fixture or the gigging DJ who is constantly traveling.

The AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ has inherited elements from the CDJ and DJM lines. In addition to a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, where up to 13 tracks can be displayed at once, 5 more than the last XDJ model.  You’ve got full size jog wheels comparable to the CDJ-3000 allowing for smooth pitch bending and scratching and the mixer section pulls from the DJM-A9, meaning you have all the controls positioned for ultimate performance, plus you’ve got your trusty Beat FX section.

The XDJ-AZ offers full 4-deck playback support for extremely flexible mixing. If that’s not enough, you’re also able to hook up additional CDJs seamlessly and synced up with PRO DJ LINK.

AlphaTheta has also made sure the XDJ-AZ is a standalone in the most literal way with both CloudDirectPlay and StreamingDirectPlay available via built-in WiFi! 

CloudDirectPlay grants you access to your cloud-based rekordbox library. You can pull your latest playlists and performance data such as Hot Cue information, and you can update these from the unit as well, making it a true all-in-one system.  If streaming is more your thing, StreamingDirectPlay grants you the ability to play tracks from Beatport’s vast music library with all the analysis data you’d need to put on a great performance. All you need is a subscription to a Beatport Streaming Professional or Advanced plan and boom, you’re able to access the Beatport library directly from the controller.

If you don’t do USB drives, streaming, or you don’t mess with the cloud, you can also use the AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ with Mac or PC in Performance Mode via USB-C. Even better if you want to ditch the cable, just enable Wi-Fi for rekordbox Link Export and you can access tracks from your computer or mobile device without needing to plug in.  AlphaTheta has also integrated their ultra-low-latency wireless technology into the XDJ-AZ with the inclusion of a built-in SonicLink transmitter to be used with another new AlphaTheta product, the HDJ-F10 professional DJ headphones. You can avoid getting tangled up in your headphone cable, and mix to your hearts content with a wireless signal that transmits audio 20 times faster than the Bluetooth SBC CODEC!
