What’s up everyone, Matt from I DJ NOW, and today we are sitting with the highly anticipated Rane Four DJ Controller. Yes, we’ve all been waiting for these to drop for some time and it’s finally here! But before we go any further, be sure to subscribe to our channel and give this video a like, we’d really appreciate it.
Now fresh out the box you’ll find that rugged, durable, heavy-duty quality one comes to expect from Rane. They like to use the term “bulletproof” when describing their gear and I’m just going to take their word for it.
This is a 4-deck controller with a mixer that’s a bit of a battle/club hybrid. You’ve got your EQ section, your channel FX controls, and your paddle FX. This controller comes with fixed platters, but scratchers, no need to worry, they’re a nice, full 8.5” so regardless if you’re scratching or not, this controller is going to be a lot of fun.
Now, this isn’t just a normal, everyday DJ controller. No, the Rane Four was designed with Serato for use with the new Stems capabilities within the Serato software. So on the Rane Four, you have the ability to activate the STEM-SPLIT feature to access Stem elements and tracks right at your fingertips.
The STEM-SPLIT button is going to split a song into an Acapella track and an Instrumental track, each sent to a different deck. If it’s more on the fly, you can choose to use the dedicated Instrumental and Acapella buttons for more spontaneous moments without the current Performance Pad mode. Beyond the Stem access, the Rane Four features a newly designed internal FX suite, Performance Pad OLED screens, central jog wheel color displays on what are designed to be the smoothest and most accurate static jog wheels available, a MAG-FOUR crossfader, and so much more.
